Lower the cost of the design process, make it flexible, connected and open on the web? This the vision of Archiyou.

Code languages and platforms that changed creativity

In the first part of The Power of Code we saw that the potential for creativity of computers was already envisioned by their theoretical pioneers. We also studied the continuous creation of programming languages looking for better ways to solve problems and tap into possibilities. Using code for creativity - from design, arts and music - is historically far from being mainstream. That doesn’t mean creative coding is not growing and making an increased impact. Especially on the web, but certainly not confined to it. Here are four of our favorite code languages and platforms that changed creativity: Processing, OpenSCAD, SonicPI and DesignScript.

Design needs a(nother) language

Computer pioneer Ada Lovelace envisioned computers to do both calculations and produce music. As early as in the 19th century she peered far into the future by realizing that computers could not only process numbers but almost everything in the form of logical symbols. So Lovelace not only created some of the first algorithms but also foresaw the large domain of computers and their possibilities for creativity.

Finally! After a lot of work we are happy to launch our public website. It briefly tells the reasons why we wanted to create Archiyou and gives a glimpse into the possibilities of the platform.
